Job Description
The Division Manager of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability at Bridgestone Corporation oversees safety and environmental compliance to support strategic business plans. About the position
The Division Manager of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) at Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO) plays a crucial role in supporting the division's strategic business plans by overseeing and influencing safety and environmental compliance. This position is pivotal in building a robust EHSS culture that aligns with the company's commitment to operational excellence. The Division Manager will administer comprehensive regulatory and company compliance programs, ensuring that all teammates are involved and engaged in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This includes conducting worksite analyses, coaching field leaders, and providing necessary training to ensure that all safety protocols are understood and followed. In this role, the Division Manager will drive the implementation of EHSS strategies and initiatives across the division, fostering a culture of compliance and performance. The day-to-day operations of the division's EHSS function will be managed by this position, which includes providing onsite coaching to store and field leaders through structured visits. The Division Manager will also offer guidance on regulatory matters, such as OSHA, EPA, and Fire Marshal regulations, and will oversee all interactions with government compliance agencies. Additionally, the Division Manager will support field operations in incident investigations, ensuring that all required internal reporting is completed accurately and timely. This role will involve working closely with division and region leadership to identify areas for improvement in EHSS compliance and culture, utilizing both leading and lagging indicators to track progress. An efficient process for identifying, reporting, investigating, tracking, and analyzing incidents will be maintained, with a focus on implementing appropriate countermeasures and communicating lessons learned throughout the organization. The Division Manager will also attend business meetings to provide updates and ensure that EHSS considerations are integrated into operational processes.
Responsibilities
• Administer comprehensive regulatory and company compliance programs through management leadership, teammate involvement, worksite analysis, field leader coaching, and training.

• Drive the implementation of EHSS strategies and initiatives to build a division-wide culture of compliance and performance.

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the division's EHSS function.

• Provide onsite coaching of store and field leaders through structured store visits.
,
• Provide guidance on regulatory matters (OSHA, EPA, Fire Marshal, etc.) and oversee government compliance interactions.

• Support field operations in incident investigations and complete all required internal reporting (Serious Injury/Fire Notice, etc.).

• Work with division and region leadership to identify and improve upon EHSS compliance and culture utilizing both leading and lagging indicators.

• Maintain an efficient process for identifying, reporting, investigating, tracking, and analyzing incidents, ensuring appropriate countermeasures are implemented and lessons learned are communicated.

• Attend business meetings to provide relevant information and updates to ensure EHSS is embedded into the operational processes.
Requirements
• BS degree in Safety or Engineering/Science (Chemical, Civil, Environmental) plus 2 years of environmental, safety, and health experience or 4 years of automotive experience in a management position.

• Bachelor's degree; 6+ years of relevant experience including 3-5 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience.

• Master's degree; 4+ years of relevant experience including 2-4 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others and collaborate openly and consultatively.
,
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, changing environment, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to understand the application of legal and regulatory requirements in the complexities of a large organization.

• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to be precise and direct in communicating with diverse groups.

• Thorough understanding of OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
