About the position
The Director of Sustainability, Energy, and Environmental Programs at DASNY is responsible for establishing and maintaining policies and procedures related to New York State sustainability laws. This role involves developing strategies to meet the sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental needs of customer agencies, while also creating marketable services that generate revenue. The position requires a strong background in sustainability programs, energy efficiency, and environmental practices, along with supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
• Develop policies and procedures to meet DASNY's obligations associated with NYS sustainability, energy and environmental law.

• Ensure compliance with NYS and NYC sustainability, energy and environmental law guidelines and participate in statewide technical committees.

• Provide timely deliverables including required reporting associated with DASNY's operations in accordance with sustainability laws.

• Work with customer-agencies to develop strategic sustainability, energy and environmental master plans and solutions.

• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Department to develop and market revenue-generating sustainability services.
,
• Develop and maintain contract language associated with sustainability practices in conjunction with customer-agencies.

• Conduct ongoing reviews of design and construction practices to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Develop and conduct technical training for DASNY staff, clients, contractors, and consultants.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree plus ten years relevant experience in sustainability programs implementation and maintenance.
,
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability strategies.
,
• Six years experience supervising and evaluating professional staff.
,
• Program management and customer-facing experience.
Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, or related field with coursework in sustainability policies and practices.
,
• 15 years relevant experience including six years supervising professional staff.
,
• Experience with LEED certification standards.
,
• Management experience and licensed as a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer in New York.
,
• Certification as a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional.
,
• Experience delivering presentations to large audiences.
Benefits
• Salary range from $150,110 annually.
,
• Additional location differential of $5,054 for NYC only.
