About the position
The Director of Sustainability at Southwire Company, LLC is responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance in the execution of the company's operational sustainability strategy. This role is crucial in supporting the organization's ambitious sustainability targets, including achieving carbon neutrality for Scopes 1 and 2 by 2025. The Director will engage with various levels of the organization to drive sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with Southwire's core values of environmental stewardship and community well-being.
Responsibilities
• Deploy sustainability programs and execute enterprise-level strategies at various sites.

• Provide guidance on sustainability assessments, including knowledge of retro commissioning, LEED, and ASHRAE guidelines.

• Design and implement sustainability processes, projects, and standards, including OPEX and CAPEX roadmap reviews and Life Cycle Studies.

• Deliver change management initiatives to support the sustainability agenda across mid to senior leadership.
,
• Develop and deploy sustainability training content for site team members, engineers, and leadership teams.
,
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver value to customers and strengthen partnerships with corporate sustainability, operations, and EHS.
,
• Gather, review, evaluate, and deliver sustainability data and metrics to support decision-making.
,
• Promote health and safety while incorporating environmental considerations into decision-making processes.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
,
• 10+ years of experience in Engineering, Sustainability, Project Management, ESG, or related fields.
,
• Valid Driver's License.
,
• Experience with LEED Certification, Utilities Design & Optimization, Change Management, Lean, ASHRAE, and Water Stewardship.
Nice-to-haves
• 15+ years of experience in relevant fields.

• Experience with Power Systems and Green Building Design.
,
• Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, commissioning, and handheld metering devices.
