The Director of Sales and Business Development at Recycling Management Resources, LLC will lead initiatives to drive growth and manage a team of business development representatives. The Opportunity:
The Director, Sales and Business Development will spearhead strategic initiatives to drive growth and retain volume coming into Recycling Management Resources (RMR) plants. In this pivotal role, you will lead a talented team of business development representatives in RMR markets, supporting them to achieve ambitions growth targets by providing tools, resources, and training; setting quotas, and allocating resources to ensure revenue targets are met.
This is a remote position based in the Central or Eastern time zones; however, proximity to an RMR facility is preferred. The role reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Travel Demands: Anticipated travel is 25-50%
How you will make an impact:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily:
• Achieve or exceed RMR sourcing and material marketing goals, including volume and margin growth.
• Lead strategy development/execution of RMR supply pipelines (inclusive of national account supply).
• Provide sales leadership and coaching to all RMR plant and national accounts sales reps to ensure they achieve sales KPI's.
• Collaborate with RMR operational leadership to ensure RMR KPI's are achieved.
• Market and sell RMR material to customers to achieve maximum value for the RMR material.
• Lead, mentor, and manage business development representatives to ensure effective performance.
• Set individual sales targets for team members and monitor their performance.
• Manage sales budgets and allocate resources effectively.
• Market and sell RMR material to customers to achieve maximum value for outbound RMR material
• Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate industry trends to identify new business opportunities.
• Develop, monitor and report on key performance metrics and adjust tactics to achieve desired outcomes.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
• Lead periodic training sessions to improve team skills and share best practices.
• Review sales activities and customer interactions in CRM systems.
• Support identification and pursuit of new business opportunities.
• Support the completion of proposals to ensure profitability and operational efficiency of new opportunities.
• Oversee the preparation of proposals, presentations, and sales pitches.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and enhance marketing/sales efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development efforts with company goals.
• Provide feedback and insights to senior management on market trends and customer needs.
• Develop and manage budgets for business development activities.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all business development activities.
• Continuously assess and improve business development processes and strategies.
What you need to succeed:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development or sales leadership roles.
• Previous experience managing a team of business development representatives.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
• Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships.
• Experience in leading and managing a team.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
• Experience in developing business plans and sales strategies.
• Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
