As the Director of Sustainability and Climate Risk, ESG Audit, you will play a vital role in driving strategic initiatives that ensure HSBC meets its sustainability goals while managing climate-related risks effectively. You will lead a dedicated team focused on evaluating and improving the bank's environmental and social governance practices.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Overseeing and driving HSBC’s sustainability initiatives and climate risk assessments to align with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Developing and implementing frameworks for evaluating ESG performance across the organization.
• Leading a team of ESG auditors to ensure thorough and impactful auditing processes.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners, to enhance HSBC's sustainability strategies.
• Monitoring regulatory changes and industry trends to adapt our strategies accordingly.
• Utilizing data analytics to provide insights and recommendations that support ESG strategies and improve performance.
To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications:
• Significant experience in sustainability, climate risk management, or ESG auditing within a financial institution or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of ESG regulations, risks, and best practices, coupled with a track record of strategic implementation.
• Excellent leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across the organization.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong analytical mindset.
This role is based in the UK with a hybrid working model available. Offices include London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, and Sheffield.
