Director of Risk Management - Full Time

Job Summary Support the development of independent risk oversight within Group Risk Management (GRM) - U.S. Enterprise Risk, focusing on ESG and Climate frameworks for the US Operations, RBC's Intermediate Holding Company (RIHC), and branches in the U.S.
Responsibilities Oversee ESG/Climate program design, development, and implementation for CUSO and lines of business, including policy and training material development.
Assess ESG/Climate risks via risk taxonomy, strategic plans, and stakeholder forums, ensuring comprehensive risk identification.
Enhance risk frameworks to incorporate ESG/Climate oversight.
Coordinate with stakeholders to align ESG/Climate risk management across the organization, ensuring segregation of duties and oversight.
Partner with various teams to integrate ESG/Climate considerations into decision-making processes and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Monitor and report on ESG/Climate risk metrics, escalate issues, and oversee climate risk stress testing and scenario analysis.
Prepare reports for senior management, boards, regulators, and external stakeholders.
Manage responses to regulatory examinations and internal audits, and support external disclosures.
Track legal and political developments related to ESG/Climate risk.
Lead the ESG/Climate Risk management team responsible for oversight, monitoring, and reporting.
Stay informed of emerging trends and practices in climate risk.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Law, or related fields.
8+ years in Risk Management, Controls, or Audit within Financial Services.
5+ years in a leadership role managing teams of 3+ professionals.
Knowledge of risk disciplines and ESG/Climate frameworks and regulations.
Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and ability to influence stakeholders.
