Job Description

Dylan Green is seeking a Director of Investments for a leading investment firm focused on sustainable energy. The role involves transaction structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and risk assessment for grid-connected projects like wind and solar. Candidates should have finance experience in sustainable energy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex transactions. The position allows for remote work with travel as needed.

Our client is one of the country’s leading investment firms with a carbon negative focus. With several decades of experience, our client manages hundreds of millions of dollars worth of assets to accelerate the energy transition.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Director of Investments to join their team, focusing on grid-connected projects - ranging from wind to solar to energy storage. This role involves leading transaction structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and risk assessment, as well as supporting business development and origination efforts.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead or support transaction structuring, negotiate term sheets, and assess risk-return alignment
• Participate in business development, attend client meetings, and help develop origination strategies
• Prepare and review internal investment materials, outlining key financial terms, risks, and mitigations
• Oversee execution teams handling transaction documents, financial models, and due diligence
• Lead financing processes, negotiate documents, and manage investor due diligence
• Act as a liaison for corporate due diligence on projects and portfolio investments
• Work closely with portfolio and risk management teams to provide investment expertise

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or CFA preferred
• Finance experience in sustainable energy, including tax equity, project finance, or structured debt/equity
• Proven ability to manage complex transactions across wind, solar, and battery storage projects
• Expertise in structuring and negotiating structured debt and equity deals
• Experience originating structured finance deals with top-tier clients
• Strong investment track record
• Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
• Background in energy, banking, consulting, tax equity, or utilities
• Familiarity with energy project finance and transaction documentation
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments
• Able to collaborate with clients and vendors at various levels
• Comfortable working remotely, with the ability to travel as needed
• Self-motivated, reliable, and independent
• Strong team player
