Director of Environmental Services

The Director of Environmental Services at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, is responsible for overseeing the Environmental Services and Linen departments, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and achieving quality and financial goals. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of management experience in healthcare. The position is full-time, with a work schedule of Monday to Friday and additional hours as needed.
Job Summary:

The Director of Environmental Services maintains responsibility for planning, organizing developing and directing the Environmental Services (EVS) and Linen departments of Upstate Medical University, which includes oversight of services at the Downtown and Community Hospitals as well as academic, research and student space. The Director establishes an effective quality plan and achieves financial goals and assures that all environmental personnel under the operation control conform with all Upstate policies/procedures, and local, state and federal requirements. The Director will also maintain the highest possible customer satisfaction through employee relations and retention programs and ensure metrics are monitored for quality, finance, and staffing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors in Business, Health Care Administration or related field plus a minimum of 5-7 years of supervisory or management experience in a similar healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a unionized environment strongly preferred.
