Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Environmental Planning to lead their planning team in California. The successful candidate will oversee environmental planning projects, manage client relationships, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of environmental planning principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage environmental planning projects, including land use planning, environmental impact assessments, and mitigation planning.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for environmental planning services.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal environmental regulations, including CEQA and NEPA.
• Oversee the preparation and review of technical reports, environmental documents, and permit applications.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for planning staff.
• Represent the company at public meetings, hearings, and other forums.

Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental planning and project management.
• Extensive knowledge of California environmental regulations and planning processes.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
