Our mission is to create value for our stakeholders - including the communities where we operate - through an ongoing commitment to safety, compliance, stewardship, innovation, and growth for our portfolio of renewable energy generating facilities. • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and develop preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
• Drive safety training programs and environmental education initiatives for all employees and contractors.
• Partner with operational teams to ensure safe and sustainable practices in hydropower generation, maintenance, and facility upgrades.
• Oversee permitting processes related to environmental impact and water usage, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.
• Lead monthly standing meetings regarding safety performance for all of our operations divisions.
• Monitor and manage EH&S metrics, reporting regularly to executive leadership on performance and improvements.
• Foster collaboration across departments to integrate EH&S principles into every aspect of the organization’s operations.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and industry groups on EH&S matters.
What skills & experience you’ll need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• 10+ years of experience working in EH&S policy management, preferably within the energy or hydropower sector.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and FERC standards.
• Proven leadership skills, with a track record of driving cultural change and operational improvements.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are highly desirable.
Working Conditions:
• Combination of office and field work at ECRE facilities.
• Travel required for site visits and meetings.
• Role may involve exposure to outdoor environments and operational equipment.
