Job Description

Self-Help Credit Union is seeking a Director of Climate Change Mitigation and Economic Empowerment in Chicago, IL. We are seeking an experienced investment professional to lead our clean energy investment initiatives, helping us deliver on our mission to create economic opportunity for traditionally underserved communities. As a key member of our team, you will develop and implement strategic investment strategies that address climate change and foster economic empowerment in low-income and disadvantaged communities.

Your Key Responsibilities
• Investment Strategy Development: Collaborate with internal teams to identify and evaluate investment opportunities, conducting thorough due diligence and risk assessments to ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Portfolio Management: Develop and manage a diverse portfolio of investments, monitoring performance, and impact metrics to drive positive outcomes for both investors and communities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate partnerships with community organizations, industry leaders, and policymakers to maximize the fund's impact and advance environmental justice and economic equity.
• Compliance and Impact Monitoring: Liaise with external stakeholders, including the Environmental Protection Agency Office of Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund staff, to ensure program impact and compliance.

About You
• You have a strong educational background in finance, investment management, or a related field, with at least 7 years of experience in structured finance, climate resilience, or a related field.
• You possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide your team towards achieving our shared goals.
• You have a proven track record of success in driving impact investment strategies, with a deep understanding of economic justice, climate finance, and community development principles.
• You share our commitment to creating economic opportunity for all, with a strong passion for teamwork and collaboration.
