Charter Next Generation is seeking a Director of Business Development for Sustainable Solutions, based in Chicago, IL, or at locations in Lexington, OH, or Milton, WI. The role involves engaging with consumer packaged goods (CPGs) to promote sustainable solutions, managing relationships, and collaborating on new product development. Candidates should have over 8 years of experience in film and packaging sales, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

As a Director of Business Development, Sustainable Solutions your responsibilities will be:
• Lead engagement with CPGs and end-users to drive CNG’s vast portfolio of sustainable solutions through both direct and indirect channels.
• Collaborate internally with commercial stakeholders to develop a short-list of CPG targets accounts to engage
• Lead engagements with those CPGs to drive both direct sales opportunities and to educate and drive indirect sales opportunities
• Maintain a pipeline of new and existing sales opportunities with CPGs, periodically update internal stakeholders
• Relationship management of key influencers throughout the value chain and at target accounts
• Work with internal technical and product management stakeholders to develop and commercialize new solutions
• Educate CPGs on CNG’s suite of sustainable solutions across all key platforms – Recycle Ready, PCR, Advance Recycled Content, etc.
• Attend key sustainability related conferences to drive visibility of CNG’s leadership in sustainability

A strong Director of Business Development, Sustainable Solutions will possess:
• 8 + years of film and flexible packaging sales and strategic business development experience
• B.A. in Business, Sales, Marketing or Engineering required. MBA preferred
• Executive presence and presentation skills. Ability to efficiently influence across multiple levels of the organization
• Analytical and innovative mindset; ability to identify and pioneer new concepts without fear of failure
• Ability to foster strong connections with organizational partners, including product and business owners and other executive stakeholders
• Ability to assess external market landscape, with laser focus on sustainability, recognize patterns and evolving opportunities, and offer creative solutions
• Ability to create a business case for proposals, understanding key risks and mitigants to those risks, including implementation challenges
• Ability to stay attuned to the ever-changing regulatory landscape and potential implications

• Follows company guidelines and actively participates in all safety processes
• Carry out job/area specific housekeeping duties and maintain a high standard of professionalism
• Look for, report, and correct any near misses/unsafe conditions or behaviors as soon as possible
• Identify needed changes and make recommendations - find a better way
