Director of Business Development, PV & Energy StorageMassamerican Energy, Sudbury, MAMassamerican Energy is a Developer, Constructor, Owner, and Operator of commercial & industrial (C&I) solar arrays. We’re on a mission to accelerate the transition to clean, renewable energy. If you’re passionate about the urgent challenge to decarbonize the planet, we want you on our team. We’re looking to hire a person with a strong track record in commercial solar business development. This person will enhance our local book of business and lead us into additional solar and energy storage markets beyond New England.Responsibilities:· Generate PV & energy storage opportunities with existing and new customers· Book & manage distribution and transmission level PV & storage opportunities, from identification through contract signing· Utilize account profiling, cold calls, business networking and other market penetration strategies to build the prospect sales funnel· Collaborate with account managers to establish and maintain strong relationships with commercial & industrial landlords, commercial RE channel partners, key IPP customers, project developers, PV & storage vendors, financial partners, etc.· Develop strategic and balanced business strategies for target markets in support of company growth· Meet or exceed annual sales volume of MW & MWH targets· Leverage your existing market intelligence to expand relationships with developers, IPPs, governments, and utilities to understand the development environment, and adjust company strategy accordingly· Generate proposals for front-of-meter and behind-the-meter projects· Embrace an independent and collaborative work model· Work with account management, legal, finance and executive teams to negotiate contract terms and close transactions· Represent the company at marketing events such as trade shows and industry events· Participate in panel discussions to elevate the company’s profile· Use Salesforce to record all sales activityQualifications:· 5-10 years in the renewable energy industry· Strong understanding of renewable energy ecosystem, market structure, incentives, regulations, and economics· Our ideal candidate is an organized, creative problem-solver, self-motivated and independent, a great communicator that prospects with a sense of urgency· You are accustomed to managing multiple projects in parallel· Experience with complex sales processes preferably in C&I PV and energy storage markets· Ability to prioritize the list of proposals in the sales funnel and drive the high probability projects to a successful close· Understanding of key financial model metrics (NPV, IRR, DSCR, etc.)· Ability to spend time in-person and via Zoom with prospects and customers· A passion for renewable energy, addressing the climate crisis, and accelerating the clean energy transformation· Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business, engineering; MBA is a plusSalary & Incentive Compensation: commensurate with experience, skillset, track recordBenefits:· Medical· Dental· Matching 401(k) plan· 3-weeks PTO· Flexible, hybrid work schedules· Paid parental leave· Product training and professional career development· Education and tuition reimbursement programs availableEqual Employment Opportunity StatementMassamerican Energy is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
