About the position

The Environmental Director position at Nestlé USA is responsible for ensuring the organization's environmental performance and acting as a functional expert resource. The role focuses on optimizing environmental aspects across the value chain to enhance corporate image through proactive consumer engagement and sustainability initiatives. The director will develop, implement, and maintain robust environmental strategies and policies, fostering a culture of compliance and sustainability within the organization. This position requires collaboration with internal and external partners to build environmental knowledge and capability across the company.

Responsibilities
• Develop and implement environmental strategies, programs, systems, and plans in accordance with ISO 14001 and other relevant standards.

• Manage company-wide functional environmental programs and serve as the internal subject matter expert.

• Lead the management of all company remediation projects, assembling and managing teams of internal and external experts.

• Provide training and capability building for SH&E facility experts in collaboration with corporate leads.
,
• Serve as environmental counsel to support leaders across business functions, providing coaching and training.
,
• Provide technical expertise in environmental initiatives and represent the company in key external organizations.
,
• Support facilities and groups with expert environmental counsel as needed.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline or environmentally related field.

• Environmental Professional Certification (CEM, etc.) strongly preferred.
,
• Minimum 5 years of factory or corporate environmental experience.
,
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal environmental and remediation regulations.
,
• Strong communication, strategic, training, and motivational management skills.

• Good technical understanding of environmental issues related to production and engineering.
,
• Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills.
,
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
,
• Strong verbal/written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
,
• Ability to communicate complex regulatory issues in lay terms.
,
• Strong change management and team-building abilities.
,
• Proficiency with Windows-based applications and ability to master specialized software.
