Enemix is seeking a Director – Energy Markets to lead their energy and carbon consultancy efforts focused on renewables and decarbonisation. The role involves business development, stakeholder engagement, and overseeing energy market projects for Australian clients. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, strong analytical skills, and a relevant technical degree. The position is fully remote.

Enemix has partnered with one of Australia’s leading energy and carbon consultancies who are seeking someone passionate about the renewables and decarbonisation market. This role will be integral to the company’s overall growth strategy to monitor market trends, expand client network and strengthen their market position.
You will play an integral role in identifying new business opportunities, establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, promoting business advisory programs, and expanding company network. You will collaborate with internal research, financial, regulatory, auditing and operating teams to provide a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach to Market Modelling and Origination.
Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the design and modelling of energy contract and hedging structures.
• Identify customer opportunities and lead the pricing, structuring and negotiation of offtake agreements, primarily Power Purchase Agreements.
• Establish new and foster existing relationships with external key stakeholders, promoting business advisory services.
• Oversee Delivery for Australian Clients across all Electricity and Energy Market projects. Client Types range from Developers, Retailers, Gentailers and OEMs.
• Design, Develop and manage electricity spot projections based on data from potential supply-demand scenarios, developing and utilising simulations using Plexos and Python.
• Providing insight to Australian energy and carbon markets, investment opportunities and role in developing natural capital.
• Formulate and implement approaches to the management of energy market risks for external stakeholders and customers.
Qualifications
• 10 + years of relevant experience and exposure preferably in decarbonisation, climate resilience, carbon markets, renewable energy, hydrogen, energy policy and energy transition strategies.
• Deep understanding of the electricity system and power trading.
• Experience working on complex PPAs and Procurement within the renewable energy market.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, economics or a related technical field.
• Demonstrable experience modelling and structuring options to finance the transition of the energy sector, carbon markets and industry more broadly.
