Job Description

Veritas Partners is seeking a Director of Asset Management for Renewable Energy, offering a remote or hybrid role based in Annapolis, MD. This senior position involves overseeing financial and operational performance of a diverse portfolio of utility-scale solar and battery storage assets. Responsibilities include P&L management, compliance, risk assessment, and strategy development to maximize asset performance. The role requires 8 years of experience in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy.
The Director of Asset Management is a newly created opportunity within a prominent fast-growing renewable energy developer and investment company. This full-time opportunity will join a nationally recognized team and lead the financial, technical, and operational performance of a large, geographically diverse portfolio of utility-scale solar and battery storage assets. This senior leadership role will utilize a deep understanding of renewable energy operations and financial acumen to drive performance and improvements across a large-scale portfolio. The Director of Asset Management opportunity will offer a competitive compensation package comprised of a base salary in the $170,000 to $185,000 range plus up to 25% bonus target, and excellent benefits. This position will offer a remote flexible schedule or can be based out of the company’s headquarters based in Annapolis, MD and offer a hybrid flexible work schedule.

Director of Asset Management – Job Description
• Reporting to the VP of Asset Management, will ownership of the P&L, development of teams, processes, and systems, and ensures compliance with contracts and regulations.
• Own end-to-end asset management for a PV and BESS portfolio
• Full P&L ownership, including budgeting, cost control, and NOI optimization
• Lead technical and operational asset management, including monitoring, O&M, warranties, insurance, EPC workmanship, and field service execution
• Ensure onboarding and compliance with all regulatory, contractual, and tax requirements, including multi-year ITC recapture obligations
• Build, lead, and scale the asset management organization, including internal hires and third-party vendors
• Partner closely with executive leadership and finance on reporting, dashboards, and performance analytics
• Develop and execute strategies to maximize asset performance and profitability
• Implement best practices and data analytics for asset optimization, including predictive maintenance and performance monitoring
• Manage contracts with vendors, service providers, and off-takers to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
• Oversee financial analysis, budgeting, and investment decisions for individual assets and portfolio
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, investors, and regulators
• Identify and assess risks associated with solar and storage assets, and develop mitigation strategies
• Prepare regular performance reports and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
• Provide input during the development phase for contracts, including power purchase agreements, service contracts, EPC agreements, equipment selection, and LTSA's and warranties applying operational lessons learned
• Partner with counterparts in Finance and Accounting to timely prepare operational portfolio reports and financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of solar and storage assets, from development to decommissioning

Director of Asset Management – Job Qualifications
• 8 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on project development, project finance, or asset management
• Experience in a renewable energy development or IPP firm
• Commercial knowledge of key agreements including Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnect agreements, PPA settlement, Finance Agreements and LLCAs
• Experience with tax equity, tax credit transfer agreements, and back-leverage debt structures
• Understanding of renewable portfolio standards (RPS), renewable energy credits (RECs), and other renewable program incentives is preferred
• Strong financial, commercial, and technical acumen and ability to drive operational excellence
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
