Job Description

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking a Development Project Manager for their new US team in the renewable energy sector, based in Chicago (hybrid). The role involves market research, project feasibility analysis, support for land acquisition, and preparation of project materials. Candidates should have a relevant degree, experience in renewable energy, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in financial modeling. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Project Development Manager position working in the newly-formed US team of an international renewable energy developer. This is a full-time, permanent job based in Chicago (hybrid).

This role is instrumental in supporting the expansion of our renewable energy portfolio within the Midwest region. The Development Manager will work closely with the Senior Vice President of Development to conduct market research, analyze project opportunities, and assist in various stages of the project development life cycle.
Role
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential project sites and opportunities.
• Assist in the evaluation of project feasibility and financial viability.
• Prepare project presentations and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support land acquisition efforts by conducting initial site visits and landowner outreach.
• Assist in the permitting and interconnection process.
• Prepare project financial models and analysis.
• Provide administrative support to the development team, including data management and report preparation.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
• Some experience in renewable energy development industry or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with geographic information systems (GIS).
• PMP certification or equivalent.
• Proven track record of successfully developing renewable energy projects.
