Job Description

LSP Renewables is seeking a Development Manager in Bromley, UK, to oversee renewable project development (Onshore wind, Solar PV, BESS). Responsibilities include project coordination, stakeholder management, site feasibility analysis, and land negotiations. The role requires a strong understanding of the UK electricity sector, land acquisition, and project financing. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in renewable project development and relevant qualifications.
Our client are looking for a Business Developer who will be responsible for supporting and managing the development activities of department’s renewable projects (Onshore wind, Solar PV, and BESS)
Key Accountabilities

Project Coordination
• Establishing the strategy for delivering value from the site, including commercial, planning, community, and technical strategies
• Work closely with internal and external teams (engineering, legal, and finance) to ensure smooth progress from project development to construction.
• Manage timelines and deliverables related to land acquisition, environmental and socio-economic aspects of the project.
• Keeping up to date on regulatory changes and industry trends, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure compliance and project competitiveness.

Stakeholder Management
• Engaging with local, regional, and national government agencies to secure permits, licenses, and authorizations.
• Represent the company in public meetings, forums and consultations related to the development of the project.
• Manage community engagement efforts, building positive relationships with local communities and addressing concerns related to project impacts.

Site Feasibility
• Manage Site feasibility with support of the Engineering and other support functions as required
• Coordinate the evaluation of environmental impact assessment (EIA), ensuring the environmental viability of the projects and compliance with the resolutions
• Working with environmental consultants to generate reports or documentation required in the permitting of projects.

Land
• Managing and coordinating relations with landowners, negotiating and securing land lease agreements.
• Lead the identification and evaluation of potential sites for PV, BESS, and Onshore wind projects.
• Collaborate with legal teams to draft and formalise contracts and agreements.

Knowledge and Skills
• Good understanding of Route-to-Market options, including CFDs and corporate PPAs for renewable projects
• Working knowledge of UK electricity sector and regulations
• Good understanding of the sector landscape and relevant stakeholders, such as offtakers, contractors etc
• Good understanding of land acquisition, grid connection and planning consent process/principles
• Understanding of EPC contracting structures and tendering processes
• Good knowledge of capital and O&M costs linked to PV /onshore wind and batteries
• Conversant with investment principles linked to renewable projects
• Conversant with project financing principles
• Financial modelling experience is desirable, not mandatory
• Ability to proactively work to deadlines on multiple projects concurrently
• Fluency in English is required
• Proficiency in MS Office with advanced knowledge of power-point, excel, and MS Project

Experience
• Prior experience of 5 years of having developed renewable projects in UK with specific experience of originating greenfield Renewable and BESS projects with exposure in:
• Identifying / acquiring land
• Identifying and optimising grid connections
• Environmental assessments
• Applying for planning consents
• Originating corporate PPAs
• Participating in CFD auctions
• Contributing to technology selection , O&M and asset management optimisations to support investment decisions
• Similar experience in Ireland is desirable.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Land Management, Urban Planning, or related field.
• UK Drivers Licence and ability to travel nationally and to the EU
