Job Purpose: Associate - Field Quality (Electrical) is responsible for ensuring comprehensive quality assurance and field inspection of electrical equipment for wind, solar & hybrid projects, maintaining compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and organizational safety requirements. The role focuses on proactive issue resolution, continuous improvement, and effective coordination with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to uphold high-quality standards throughout the lifecycle of renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Technical Support:

Prepare Quality Assurance (QA) requirements according to project specifications and standards.

Provide technical support to the Field Quality Assurance (FQA) team across renewable energy projects, focusing on electrical equipment.

Inspection And Compliance

Develop and review Standard Quality Plans (SQP), Site Field Quality Plans (SFQP), and Required Quality Plans (RQP) for electrical equipment used in wind, solar & hybrid projects.

Carry out inspections and assessments of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with QA standards and project requirements.

Coordinate inspections through internal teams or external agencies as needed, optimizing resources and minimizing costs.

Complete all inspections within 12 hours of receiving a Request for Inspection (RFI), and update NC/FOM log sheets in the Daily Quality Report (DQR).

Documentation And Reporting

Review and approve all quality documents submitted by suppliers, ensuring adherence to project and industry standards.

Compile and review monthly FQA MIS reports, tracking quality performance and compliance issues.

Non-Conformance Resolution And Improvement

Resolve quality issues promptly, providing dispatch clearances for electrical equipment for wind, solar & hybrid projects.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and utilize tools like FMEA and MSA to address repetitive non-conformance, ensuring corrective action.

Ensure timely closure of non-conformance issues observed during inspections in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of all QA and inspection activities.

Provide quality input for risk mitigation planning and continual improvement initiatives for field quality processes.

Field Inspections And Audits

Conduct field inspections at project sites, ensuring alignment with SFQP and quality execution plans.

Perform construction and storage audits, documenting findings according to departmental SOPs, and implement lessons learned from each project to refine quality protocols.

Vendor And Contractor Assessments

Assess vendors and contractors, submitting detailed reports following evaluations, and participate in the initial site visits to review compliance with SFQP.

Review MIS data from site audits, consolidating and reporting in SAP for continuous tracking and improvement.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Certification in Quality Assurance or Electrical Standards preferred.

Work Experience

7+ years of experience in quality assurance and field inspection of electrical equipment, especially in renewable energy projects (wind, solar & hybrid).

Hands-on experience with HV/LV panels, switchgear, transformers, inverters, and grounding systems.

Strong knowledge of quality standards (ISO, IEC) and analytical tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).

Familiarity with inspection and testing protocols, vendor assessments, and non-conformity management.
