Deputy Director for Energy Initiatives

Job Description
The Office of Energy and Sustainability (OES) is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Deputy Director. This role will oversee key operations, supervise senior staff, ensure timely submission of legislative and financial reports, manage budget tracking, develop and analyze goal-focused programs, and ensure smooth operations within the office.

Responsibilities:
• Purchasing electricity, including renewable power, for all State agencies.
• Overseeing the State's Energy Performance Contracting program and managing the State Energy Database.
• Chairing the Maryland Green Purchasing Committee.
• Installing electric vehicle charging infrastructure for the State fleet.
• Performing energy audits, designing and managing energy efficiency projects, and developing plans and implementing decarbonization projects for State facilities.
