Deputy Director for Energy and Climate Change

The Maryland Department of General Services seeks a Deputy Director for Energy and Climate Change to oversee energy initiatives, manage sustainability projects, and chair the Maryland Green Purchasing Committee. Responsibilities include purchasing electricity, managing energy performance contracts, and developing decarbonization plans. As the Deputy Director within the Office of Energy and Sustainability (OES), you will be responsible for overseeing various functions, including purchasing electricity, managing energy performance contracting, chairing the Maryland Green Purchasing Committee, installing electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and performing energy audits.

You will also be responsible for designing and managing energy efficiency projects, developing decarbonization plans, and implementing sustainable practices in State facilities.

Additionally, this position may involve managing new programs and staff as they develop.
