Circle of Life Driver Position

We are seeking a compassionate and customer service focused Durable Medical Equipment delivery driver to join our team. This individual will operate a company vehicle, service a territory, and assist with on-call coverage.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of prior experience in customer service, service delivery, and driving trucks. They must possess good hearing, vision, and the ability to distinguish between colors. Additionally, they should be able to read and speak English well enough to read road signs, prepare reports, and communicate with the public.
• Prepares the DME truck daily for delivery by pulling stock from warehouse inventory and loading equipment in designated compartments of the van and cargo trailer.
• Conducts a daily assessment and verification (Pre-Trip Inspection) of the DME truck, equipment, and supplies, confirming basic safety operations such as lights, brakes, mileage, and vehicle appearance.
• Reviews basic equipment operation and instructs patients and/or caregivers on proper use and care.
• Maintains continuous communication with the scheduling team to relay changes in orders or issues with prescribed orders, position in routes, stock availability, and to confirm delivery and pick-up of equipment.
• Responds to emergency calls and new patient orders during regular business hours and on-call rotation hours.
• Unloads and checks-in returned equipment with the warehouse, placing dirty equipment in the designated area for cleaning.
• Maintains current patient equipment logs.
• Cleans, disinfects, inspects, tests, and repairs medical equipment.
• Stocks delivery trucks with rolling stock to ensure readiness for the next delivery.
• Assists the warehouse by receiving and confirming new equipment, which includes barcoding and scanning equipment following standard operating procedures.
• Provides support to the Maintenance Department with various tasks to support ongoing maintenance of Circle of Life buildings.
• Participates in ongoing staff meetings, training activities, and continuing education to maintain relevant understanding and knowledge of equipment, new procedures, and processes.
• Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and patience when interacting with patients, families, co-workers, and members of the public.
• Represents Circle of Life to the community in a positive manner.
• Demonstrates flexibility, versatility, and a positive attitude in integrating additional duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
