We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist for Weather and Climate Modeling to join our team at the University of California, San Diego. As a key member of the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects that address the complex challenges of weather and climate modeling.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop, support, and execute projects of broad scope and complexity that addresses the objectives of the Center. This will involve applying your expertise in machine learning methods, numerical weather prediction models, and cloud computing environments to advance our understanding of extreme weather events.

You will also be responsible for leading and contributing to proposals, reports and peer-reviewed scientific journal publications as needed, and giving technical presentations to associated research and technology groups and management.
