About the position
The Climate and Culture Specialist will play a critical role in improving student performance in a low performing school by creating, managing, and maintaining the school's culture of positive learning and high expectations. The Climate and Culture Specialist provides effective leadership in the organization, administration, and supervision of student management, PBIS support, student safety and student discipline.
Responsibilities
• Develops and implements a plan for the implementation of the IPS Code of Conduct including but not limited to: Implementation and progress monitoring of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) System.

• Support and develop staff members in their implementation of classroom management systems aligned with PBIS Framework.
,
• Monitors behavioral and cultural indicators to ensure administration and staff remain focused upon instruction and learning in a positive environment.
,
• Provides leadership and monitors accountability of students' behavior.
,
• Ensures that students' ISPs are in compliance.
,
• Ensures compliance with Student Code of Conduct.
,
• Demonstrates knowledge of RTI (Response To Intervention).
,
• Communicate effectively with students, families, staff members, and building personnel.
,
• Demonstrates a high level of support and enthusiasm for the IPS culture imperatives and core values.
,
• Actively commits to and participate in professional development.
,
• Preserves and protects opportunity and equity for all children.
,
• Conduct walkthroughs and provide feedback and coaching support for teachers around school and classroom management systems (PBIS).
,
• Provide professional development to school leaders, family and staff designed to increase their skill level in social and emotional supports for students.
,
• Professionally assumes other duties or responsibilities as directed.
Requirements
• Master's degree required.
,
• Building Level Administration Certification.
,
• A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience and experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity desired.
,
• Successful experiences working with a diverse population of students and faculty.
,
• Indiana License for School Administration and Supervision.
