Position Specific Description
XPLR Infrastructure is responsible for managing a ~10 GW renewable energy portfolio (3rd largest in the U.S.), executing XPLR’s capital allocation policy, efficiently raising capital and managing the balance sheet, and analyzing M&A and strategic alternatives. The team also works on corporate strategy presentations for XPLR’s executive leadership and board of directors in conjunction with the subject matter experts around the company.
XPLR is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Finance Analyst I, Special Projects to join our Chief of Staff team. In this role, you will provide crucial support to our executives, assist in board material preparation, ensure effective governance, and facilitate various special projects. The ideal candidate will excel in project management, have superior analytical abilities, and possess outstanding communication skills. This position will involve interaction with all levels across different divisions within XPLR and the broader NextEra team, offering a broad scope of responsibilities that cater to those who thrive in dynamic environments and have a versatile skill set.
Position Specific Functions:
• Assist executives with board material preparation or any executive update at the broader NextEra
• Take detailed meeting notes and ensure follow-up on action items
• Create and maintain process trackers for project management and facilities the smooth execution of initiatives
• Collaborate with investor relations to produce investor materials, draft scripts, and perform research such as peer analysis
• Develop comprehensive reports, presentations, and other communication materials for various stakeholders
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration across teams to achieve strategic objectives
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and support special projects as required
Qualifications:
• Ability to work on matrixed team in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Strong analytical skills – including advanced expertise in Excel
• Strong communication skills – interpersonal as well as the ability to create impactful presentations
• Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or technical field highly preferred
• MBA or relevant graduate degree highly desirable
• Thrive in a very high-paced environment
• Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
Job Overview
This position works with internal and external groups to perform due diligence and asset valuations of various corporate financing projects. This position works as a Subject Matter Expert in the planning and coordination of work assignments to identify and analyze the impact of relevant financing projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Works with internal and external groups to analyze various financial projects such as mergers and acquisitions
• Builds, enhances and maintains complex financial models
• Proposes strategies to maximize the financial performance of the company
• Supports project and corporate capitalization processes with due diligence, identification of key risks and mitigants, and cash flow analyses
• Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
• Experience: 2+ years
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's - Accounting / Finance
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
