Job Description

Materials Coordinator

Chino, CA
Basic Function

Guided by Corporate policies and procedures, establishes operating policies and procedures and manages all phases of the plant production control, and inventory control functions.
Specific Duties

Provides the supply of raw materials to maintain targeted inventory levels. Works closely with plant management to recommend and otherwise assist with the development, planning and formulation of policies, long and short range objectives and operating goals.

Monitors and reports material consumption and utilizes current consumption factors to develop supply plans for material needs.

Assists in periodic physical inventory and reconciliation of raw materials, in process, and finished goods stock and compares actual with theoretical consumption.

Arranges for routine quality inspection of incoming materials, parts, and goods and disposition of off-quality materials.

Supervises the preparation of the daily production shipment and inventory report.

Administers plant rules and procedures and recommends candidates for hire, promotion, disciplinary action and/or termination. Effectively handles employee complaints, suggestions and questions. Maintains employee morale and discipline through fairness and impartiality. Provides training where applicable.

Refers customer complaints to the appropriate person for review, investigation and action. Receives routine customer orders and schedules shipment, production and finished goods inventory.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Materials Manager

Physical Requirements :
This is a medium physical demand job

Employees must be able to work overtime, weekends and nights.

b. Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

c. Employees are required to stand / walk on concrete floors.

d. Employees are required to bend; turn / twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; pinch; and have finger manipulations.

e. Must have the ability to see close (at 20 inches or less) and distance vision (20 feet or more). Ability to differentiate colors and good peripheral vision.

3. Required Safety Equipment:

a. Wear hearing and eye protection, as well as protective clothing including slip resistant toe shoes while working. PPE as required to operate equipment as needed.

4. Environmental Factors:

a. Occasional exposures to noise of 85dB

b. Occasional exposure to chemicals

c. Occasional exposure to vibration, dust / fumes / gas, confined spaces, humidity

5. Other Requirements:

a. Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values. This includes entering information into an on-line database accurately.

b. Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions / judgment calls based on the situation at hand.

c. Proficient hand / eye coordination to drive a fork truck and perform essential functions as a Warehouse person.
