Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Kahului, Hawaii. This crucial role involves the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced control systems for our renewable energy and critical infrastructure projects. You will play a vital part in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our operations. Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement complex control systems, including PLC/DCS programming, SCADA, and HMI applications.
• Conduct system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and operations teams to define system requirements and project scope.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, functional specifications, and test plans.
• Perform root cause analysis for control system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize existing control systems for improved efficiency, reliability, and security.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Required Skills
• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider Electric)
• Strong experience with SCADA/HMI system design and configuration (e.g., Aveva PI, Ignition, FactoryTalk View)
• Solid understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Profinet)
• Experience with process instrumentation and control loops (PID tuning)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with renewable energy systems (solar, wind, battery storage)
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for industrial control systems (ICS)
• Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61511, ISA 84)
