Contracts Manager - Renewable Energy

Spencer Ogden is seeking a Contracts Manager for Renewable Energy projects based in Manila, Philippines. The role requires extensive experience in contract management and negotiation, particularly for utility-scale wind and solar projects. Responsibilities include developing bid strategies, managing EPC contractor performance, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience. This is a full-time position not open to remote work.
Contracts Manager, Renewable Energy (Open to expats)

Extremely experienced contracts manager required to manage all contractual matters of renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contracts management, negotiation, regulations, and a proven track record of managing complex projects. Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement winning bid/tender strategies for utility-scale wind and solar projects.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the bidding process.
• Provide support for obtaining necessary permits and approvals from relevant jurisdictions for project construction.
• Possess strong contract management and negotiation skills, with expertise in contract specification, selecting Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors, and securing project implementation insurance.
• Effectively review and manage EPC Contractor performance, including schedules, budgets, scope of work, subcontractor engagement, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) plans, and permit compliance.
• Ensure seamless coordination with EPC contractors and equipment vendors to guarantee timely delivery of contractual deliverables within the project budget and schedule.
• Lead and/or facilitate regular project status update meetings with key stakeholders, including utilities, EPCs, off-takers, and finance counterparties.

Requirements
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in law, engineering or related field
• 10 years experience in contract management and negotiation
• Knowledge of FIDIC templates
• Knowledge of project implementation insurance
• Familiarity with wind and solar projects
• Prior experience in an EPC or Developer
• Able to be based in Manila, Philippines
