Arcadis is seeking a Consultant for its Sustainability Advisory team in Mumbai or Bangalore, India. This role focuses on greenhouse gas accounting, sustainability reporting, and client engagement across various industries. The consultant will support sustainability projects, demonstrating consulting and technical skills, and contribute to high-quality deliverables. Experience in corporate sustainability consulting and data analysis is required. The position is not fully remote, as it is based in specific Arcadis offices in India.

Role Description
We are looking to add a Consultant, Sustainability Advisory, to join our Global Excellence Center (GEC) team supporting the North America teams focused on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, sustainability reporting, and engagement.
As Consultant, Sustainability Advisory, you will be a key contributor to our Sustainability Advisory team in the U.S., serving on project delivery for one (or several) of Arcadis’ sustainability capabilities (Sustainability Strategy and Program Design, Sustainability Measurement, Sustainability Goal Setting and Achievement Plans, Sustainability Reporting, Net Zero Strategy, Circularity, Nature and Biodiversity etc.) across a range of industries. This role can be in any Arcadis office in India with a preference for Mumbai or Bangalore
One of our key global priorities is focused on solving our clients' most complex sustainability challenges. As such, you will be a key member of a variety of climate and sustainability projects and contribute to the development of innovative approaches to solve client challenges, reporting to our GEC Associate Director, Sustainability Advisory, or another member of our Sustainability Advisory team in India. This role will work horizontally across our three Global Business Areas, Mobility, Places and Resilience, drawing upon their capabilities as needed to support the advisory team and drive demand for the “pull-through” of Arcadis’ other technical services. The ideal candidate for this role will build competence & skills within the company, aligned with future solutions and client needs.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
As Consultant, Sustainability Advisory, you will be supporting the delivery of sustainability related projects ensuring. The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate consulting, technical task and communication skills around sustainability projects.
The role requires experience delivering corporate sustainability consulting projects with measurable results. The candidate should demonstrate experience delivering analysis and client communications and the contribution to high-quality deliverables and best practices. The candidate should demonstrate experience supporting clients in at least one of these areas of: decarbonization strategy and implementation plans; energy and GHG emission calculations; sustainability reporting and stakeholder engagement, ESG data management and reporting in line with frameworks such as GHG protocol, Science Based Targets Initiative, CDP, CSRD, EU Taxonomy, ISSB, GRI.
Day to day responsibilities include
• Act as a resource on projects to support the successful delivery of specific outputs individually or as part of a team
• Carry out research within client organizations and externally to identify and collect relevant data and information
• Analyse data to uncover insights that will inform the development of the design of consulting solutions and sales proposals
• Prepare reports and presentations that can be incorporated into sales proposals and client presentations
• Present the outcomes of analyses at team meetings to ensure the insights gained are clearly communicated and propose ways in which these may be leveraged to add value
• Further develop understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis and of client businesses to enable personal performance improvement and career development
• Collaborates with Sustainability Advisory US team members and peers across geographies
Required Quality and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of study such as environmental science, sustainability, engineering or business with sustainability background or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in sustainability or management consulting or working as a sustainability manager in industry
• Advanced research, data gathering and analysis skills, and advanced proficiency with desktop applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to produce quality work with some level of autonomy, articulate challenges when help is required
• Excellent communication and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Additional training and or certifications in sustainability
• Preferred experience in Tableau, Power BI, Python, R or other digital solutions
