Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Perform pre-operational inspection. Clean and lubricate cranes. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs. Assist in demolishing buildings. Clean and pile salvaged materials. Perform routine maintenance work. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Student status: Full time enrollment. Type of cranes: Overhead crane. Equipment and machinery experience: Bobcats. Reciprocating saws. Circular saws. Grinding machine. Air compressors. Air guns. Nail guns. Drills. Forklift. Hand tools. Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional. Residential. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Overtime required. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Gloves. Safety vest. Rain gear.
