ACE Solar is seeking a Construction Project Manager in North Andover, MA, to oversee solar construction projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities include managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and ensuring safety compliance. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and clients, conducting site visits, and maintaining project documentation. A bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of solar project management experience are preferred.

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of solar construction projects, from ground-breaking through project completion. This includes managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and logistics to ensure timely and safe delivery of projects. The role involves leading construction teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining strong communication with internal stakeholders, clients, and contractors. The Construction Project Manager reports to the VP of Project Management and may manage a team of Assistant Project Managers or Site Supervisors.
Responsibilities
· Develop, communicate, and manage detailed construction schedules and responsibilities for the construction team.
· Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities to ensure all project milestones are met on time.
· Ensure that all construction work adheres to safety standards, local building codes, and environmental regulations.
· Collaborate with development and engineering teams to establish construction timelines and budgets based on preliminary designs.
· Manage the procurement of materials and services, ensuring that construction resources are available and aligned with project needs.
· Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring adherence to contracts and delivery timelines.
· Develop and manage project budgets, tracking costs and mitigating any budget overruns.
· Prepare and submit regular progress reports for clients and internal teams, including cost tracking, scheduling updates, and any project changes.
· Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their satisfaction with construction progress and addressing concerns or changes promptly.
· Conduct regular site visits to assess construction progress, quality, and safety; resolve any issues on-site in real time.
· Monitor project quality, ensuring that all installations meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
· Resolve logistical and operational challenges, including material shortages or unplanned delays.
· Oversee the resolution of construction-related issues and unexpected challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
· Maintain accurate construction documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and safety logs.
· Ensure all permits are in place and coordinate with local municipalities for inspections and compliance.
· Coordinate site-specific safety programs and maintain an OSHA-compliant work environment.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred).
· Minimum of 3 years of solar construction project management experience, with experience managing projects of at least 1 MW or larger.
· Strong understanding of construction best practices, materials, and solar installation processes.
· Proven experience managing and directing construction crews and subcontractors.
· Knowledge of Distributed Generation (DG) solar projects and related infrastructure.
· Familiarity with permitting, inspection processes, and regulatory requirements for solar installations.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and foster collaboration.
· Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Procore, and AutoCAD.
· OSHA 10 certification (required); OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
· NABCEP professional certification (preferred).
· PMP or similar project management certification (preferred).
· Willingness and ability to travel regionally based on project locations.
Additional Information
· Travel Requirements: Regional travel will be required to project sites for site inspections, progress meetings, and other construction-related activities.
· Work Environment: The role involves both office and on-site work. Construction managers are expected to be hands-on during the active construction phases and ensure projects run smoothly at all stages.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
