Job Responsibilities

As a Hunter Education Instructor at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, you will be responsible for:

• Instructing programs in hunters' education, firearm safety, wildlife management, and conservation

• Operating indoor simulation ranges and providing coaching for firearm techniques

• Presenting and teaching in front of 20-40 people and clearly transferring knowledge

• Assisting in setting up and tearing down facilities and equipment

• Ensuring the safety of participants and maintaining accurate records

Key Performance Indicators

• Completing contract period with 2-4 positive experiences

• Receiving one or more positive comments from staff or participants

• Contributing to positive improvements in the Hunter Education Program

• Providing at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant

Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You should be comfortable working with a variety of firearms, bows, and hunting gear/equipment, as well as being proficient in using presentation software and Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication and coordination. A strong background in hunting laws, conservation, and wildlife agencies/WVDNR is preferred, along with NRA (Rifle/Shotgun) and USA Archery Level 1 certification.
