Job Description
WM is seeking Compliance Auditors in Columbia, SC to conduct environmental compliance audits and ensure adherence to Federal and State regulations. Key responsibilities include planning audits, reviewing facility operations, preparing reports, and verifying corrective actions. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five years of compliance experience. The role requires some travel (60%) and is primarily office-based.
• I. Job Summary
• Under minimal supervision, plans and conducts environmental compliance audits of various entities to determine compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements, programs and internal policies with a focus environmental regulations and capacity.
• II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily.
Other minor duties may be assigned. + Plan and conduct internal audits to determine compliance with Federal and State regulations. + Review facility operations and records to ensure adequacy of internal controls, compliance with procedures, consistency with established laws, rules and regulations and guidelines applicable to overall compliance for the operation. + Prepare audit reports, and implement administrative and technical audit procedures for audit program activities. + Review and verify audit corrective actions and action to prevent reoccurrence for all audit findings. + Reviews, prepares, or maintain audit protocols relevant to federal and state operations. + Provides regulatory review and develops guidance documents as needed. + Interact effectively with all levels of site's management and operational personnel to audit safe work practices and safety programs. + Perform other duties which may be assigned as time or circumstances necessitate.

• IV. Qualifications
• The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience + Education:
Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience. + Experience:
Five (5) years of previous relevant compliance experience (in addition to education requirement). B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements Preferred based on a focus in: + DOT
• completion of the FMCSA North America Standard Certification + Environmental
• BEAC or equivalent auditing certification + Health & Safety
• Certified Safety Professional or advanced technical education in related areas; BEAC or equivalent auditing certification. C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required + Working knowledge of solid and hazardous waste industry is preferred.

The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $77,000
• $112,815. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
