Community Organizer

The Community Organizer at 350Vermont will help build grassroots movements for climate justice in Vermont. This role involves collaborating with volunteers on local and state campaigns aimed at policy change and supporting those affected by climate change. The position is ideally full-time (35 hrs/week) and requires being based in Vermont, with flexible location options. Salary ranges from $50,690 to $56,547 per year, with benefits including paid time off and health insurance.
The 350VT Community Organizer will join an evolving organizing effort building the power of Vermonters to catalyze a deeply transformational movement where our transition off greenhouse gas-emitting fuels toward a climate resilient future is understood as part of a broader movement to create a future where all of us are safe, free, and in charge of making the decisions that affect our lives. They will work closely with the Lead Organizer and 350VT volunteers to develop and carry out local and state campaigns that create the world we want, build our people power to create bold policy change, and support the work of our allies working on the front lines with those most impacted by climate change. • Location: Based in Vermont required; specific location is flexible
• Pay: $50,690/year salaried for FTE (35 hours/week), or $27.85/hour part-time. (We’re expecting to hire at this rate, at our Program Manager level. For applicants with an exceptional level of relevant experience—likely at least 4 years of full-time grassroots organizing work—we’re open to discussing hiring at our Program Director level, currently $56,547/year [or $31.07/hour part-time], and adjusting job responsibilities accordingly.)
