The Opportunity
As the Communications Lead, you will be at the forefront of shaping ElectraNet's external and internal communications. You will lead the development and execution of strategic communication plans, crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. You'll partner with key stakeholders across the business to ensure consistent and impactful messaging, contributing to our organisational goals and business objectives.
This role requires a customer-centric, innovative, and highly creative approach. You will leverage your exceptional communication and content creation skills, marketing planning expertise, and ability to build strong relationships to deliver exceptional results.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
• Developing and coordinating internal and external strategic communications and messaging, including key messages for major projects.
• Craft compelling narratives for various channels, including presentations, speeches, media releases, industry reports, community engagement materials, and social media.
• Providing guidance and support to the Corporate Affairs team, including graphic design and content creators.
• Proactively managing communication-related issues to mitigate reputational risk and ensure project delivery.
• Developing, maintaining and applying relevant communication policies, guidelines, and practices.
About You
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced communications professional with a proven track record of success in a similar role. You will possess:
• Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in a Marketing & Communications related role.
• Demonstrated experience in leading strategic communications and developing business narratives in a comparable organisation.
• Proven ability to develop and execute communication plans that drive employee and external stakeholder engagement.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and adapt communication styles to diverse audiences.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Ability to think and respond quickly to situations, employing creative solutions to address issues.
• Experience managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, meeting competing deadlines, and managing high volumes of work.
• Electricity industry background, and experience using SharePoint, EDM platforms (Campaign Monitor/Mailchimp), and WordPress (desirable)
