As a Commercial Solar Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the development and execution of solar energy projects for commercial properties or large-scale installations. Your role will involve coordinating teams, managing budgets, ensuring timelines are met, and navigating the regulatory requirements involved in solar energy projects. Here are some key responsibilities and skills typically associated with the role:
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning & Coordination:
• Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, construction, etc.) and external contractors.
• Ensure the design and scope of the project meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
2. Budget & Financial Management:
• Oversee project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Ensure the project is delivered within budget and on time.
• Identify and address any cost-related issues or delays promptly.
3. Team Management:
• Lead and manage project teams, which may include engineers, designers, contractors, and other professionals.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders.
4. Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks throughout the project's lifecycle and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Ensure safety standards are met at all stages of the project.
5. Client Liaison & Reporting:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
• Provide progress reports to clients and upper management, outlining key milestones, challenges, and successes.
6. Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure all solar projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Handle necessary permitting and approvals for solar installations.
7. Quality Control:
• Monitor the quality of work throughout the project to ensure the installation meets specifications and industry standards.
• Manage post-installation support and maintenance schedules.
Required Skills:
• Project Management: Strong skills in planning, organizing, and leading projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of solar energy systems, design principles, and installation processes.
• Budget Management: Ability to manage budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation.
• Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers, contractors, and technicians.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and solve problems efficiently.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with clients, vendors, and team members.

Educational and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Experience in project management, specifically within the renewable energy or solar industry.
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) may be advantageous.
