Job Description

McFarlin Stanford is seeking a Business Development Manager for their Landscape Maintenance division in Dallas, TX. The role involves growing the customer base across various sectors, building relationships, and developing strategic proposals. Candidates should have extensive B2B sales experience, preferably in the service industry, along with knowledge of the Green Industry. This full-time position offers a salary of $70K–90K and requires local expertise.
As a Business Developer for Landscape Maintenance, you would be tasked with aggressively growing our landscape maintenance division in the Dallas Area. With an already established, diverse customer base, you have the opportunity to sell within multiple market segments including commercial office, retail facilities, hospitality & lodging, apartments complexes, industrial & business office parks and municipal government contracts & HOA & condominium associations.

Key Business Developer Responsibilities:
• Having specific knowledge of maintenance opportunities within your geographic territory.
• Building and maintaining relationships with current and new customers.
• Recognize decision makers at each potential opportunity and understand challenges with current vendors.
• Work proactively to develop strategies to remedy vendor issues with a value and quality-driven approach.
• Qualify potential opportunities and develop a strategic approach to win new accounts.
• Develop customer specific proposals tailored for each bid.
• Work closely with the Operations team, using their vast industry experience to create a value and quality-driven approach to the maintenance program being presented.
• In conjunction with company leadership, develop the bid pricing and potential long-term plan for the opportunity being pursued.
• Involvement after the sale to ensure that the customer is thoroughly satisfied with products and services we provide. Escalate any potential issues to company leadership immediately. Follow up proactively throughout the contract term.
• Identify when current contracts will expire and work diligently to renew them prior to an RFP release.
• Attend trade events to network with current and potential clients.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to produce and to develop new sales leads.
• Extensive in person, B2B selling experience, preferably in a service industry.
• Extensive Green Industry knowledge preferred including aspects of production and management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a large metropolitan territory.
• Local knowledge and contacts in multiple market segments preferred.
• Excellent written and oral skills a must
• Experience with MS Office including Excel, Work, Power Point and Publisher.
