Job Description
The City of Newcastle, Australia is hiring a Coastal Cleanup Specialist for a permanent full-time role (38 hours/week) focused on maintaining clean and safe beaches. Responsibilities include cleaning public facilities, collecting litter, and completing WHS paperwork. The position offers morning shifts and flexible work arrangements. City of Newcastle (CN) is seeking a dedicated Beach Cleaner to join our City Presentation team and assist in keeping our city's beautiful beaches clean and tidy. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working the morning shift 4am - 12.30pm.
As a member of our team, you won't just work for the city; you'll co-create it. As our Beach Cleaner you will be responsible for the cleaning of public conveniences owned by City of Newcastle in accordance with prescribed schedules to ensure these facilities are free of hazards to health. You will also oversee the removal of litter & debris from beaches and beach surrounds (including mowing of grassed areas) to ensure facilities are presentable and safe for public use.
In this role you'll perform regular cleaning duties including, but not limited to, ensuring litter is collected, the maintenance and cleaning of facilities, restocking of consumables (toilet paper, soap etc.), and sweeping of floors/hard surfaces. Additionally, you'll be responsible for the completion of WHS paperwork and cleaning reports, as required.
