About The Role As the Social Media Designer & Manager , you will be responsible for designing and publishing compelling social media content across platforms and managing Climatebase’s social media channels, with a primary focus on Instagram. You will collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure that promotional posts and key updates are aligned with our business needs. This is a part-time role that will give you the opportunity to work creatively while being an integral part of our growing mission-driven organization. This role will start out as a part-time role, with the possibility of becoming a full-time role later on.
Responsibilities Instagram: Design and publish high quality posts for Instagram, for both the Climatebase page and the SF Climate Week page. Build upon existing design concepts and generate new concepts and templates. Posts will be a mix of news (both from our own newsletter and outside sources), posts highlighting new employers/jobs, quotes and testimonials from our Fellows (graduates of our fellowship program), miscellaneous announcements, memes, and more. You should be able to make all designs yourself, though you may not always be required to.
LinkedIn and other channels: Translate the posts you create for Instagram into posts for LinkedIn, X, and Bluesky.
Manage the content calendar, ensuring timely and strategic posting across all channels.
Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary content and ensure cross-departmental promotions are integrated smoothly.
Engage with our audience across platforms to grow followers, drive engagement, and build community.
Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics, adjusting strategies to maximize engagement and reach.
Stay up to date on social media trends and climate-related content to keep Climatebase at the forefront of climate discussions.
Assist in growing Climatebase’s TikTok presence, including ideating and creating videos for that platform.
Qualifications Proven experience in designing publishing content on social media platforms.
Strong understanding of social media trends and best practices.
Familiarity with social media analytics tools and content management platforms.
Skilled in content creation, including graphic design, photo editing, and video production.
Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams to manage posting schedules and align content with business needs.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for climate action and a strong desire to contribute to climate solutions through creative communication.
Preferred Experience working in mission-driven organizations, especially in the climate or sustainability space.
Experience in setting up and executing cross-promotional posts with climate influencers to help the brand gain greater exposure.
