Job Description

Visa Inc. is hiring a Climate Strategy and Reporting Manager to lead GHG inventory management, data collection, and reporting. The role involves developing strategies for emissions data improvement, managing third-party verification, and engaging with stakeholders on climate initiatives. Candidates should have experience in GHG accounting and strong analytical skills. This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office work 2-3 days a week.
Climate Strategy and Reporting Manager, (GHG Inventory)
• Lead the annual data collection and data management to create Visa’s comprehensive GHG inventories, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
• Utilize Visa’s tools and industry-standard methodologies and tools to collect, analyze, and report on emissions data.
• Create a strategy to improve the fidelity and speed of GHG data collection and reporting.
• Manage 3rd party verification of global GHG footprint
• Lead reporting to the CDP and Visa’s CR&S report and other ad hoc reporting requests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Visa’s Climate Transition Plan, a climate strategy aligned with company goals and industry best practices.
• Support Visa’s renewable energy procurement strategy including assessment of PPA/VPPA and on-site projects.
• Explore and evaluate projects and investments including innovative technologies and solutions to reduce energy use and emissions.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay informed of evolving climate regulations and standards, supporting compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential compliance issues.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including external partners like WWF, CDP, and the Climate Group and key consultants and subject matter experts.
• Communicate effectively on climate-related issues and progress towards sustainability goals.
• Engage with industry associations and participate in relevant initiatives.
• Reporting and Disclosure:
• Prepare high-quality sustainability reports, including GHG emissions disclosures, in accordance with recognized frameworks (e.g., TCFD, CDP).
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of climate-related metrics and performance.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications:
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.

• Experience in GHG accounting, reporting, and management.

• Strong understanding of climate science, policy, and regulatory frameworks.

• Proficiency in GHG inventory tools and methodologies (e.g., GHG Protocol, WRI/WBCSD).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong project management and organizational abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental impact.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is to USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
