Climate Risk Lead

Mass Staffing Projects is seeking a Climate Risk Lead in Cape Town or Johannesburg, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree related to climate change, over 10 years of relevant experience, and strong project management skills in climate finance and ESG. Responsibilities include leading the business unit and developing proposals for climate change projects.
An agile, dynamic and professional consulting firm is looking for a Climate Risk Specialist to lead the business unit. This role can be based in Johannesburg or Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities:
• Advanced degree (Masters) in a discipline relevant to climate change (e.g. environmental science, geography, etc).
• 10+ years' experience in climate change or similar discipline.
• 3 – 5 years' experience in a management or senior technical role.
• Experience in developing technical and financial proposals for climate change assignments.
• Ability to win work.

Technical and project management experience in the following:
• Climate finance.
• Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) due diligence.
• Climate change impact assessment.
• Greenhouse gas inventories / carbon footprint assessments aligned with relevant international standards.
