Job Description
RMSI is hiring a Climate Risk Analyst in Noida, India, requiring 1-3 years of experience. The role involves assessing and managing climate-related risks, utilizing data analytics and geospatial tools. Key responsibilities include risk analysis, data management, modeling, and reporting. Candidates should have a degree in a relevant field, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in tools like Python and GIS software. This is a full-time position.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Climate Risk Analyst with 1-3 years of experience to join our Sustainability team. The ideal candidate will support the assessment, modeling, and management of climate-related risks, including physical and transitional risks. This role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of climate science, data analytics, and risk management, contributing to sustainable strategies and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Risk Assessment and Analysis
• Analyze physical climate risks (e.g., floods, heatwaves, cyclones, droughts) using data-driven approaches and geospatial tools.
• Evaluate transitional risks such as regulatory changes, market dynamics, and decarbonization strategies.
• Conduct scenario analysis based on frameworks like IPCC, TCFD, and NGFS.
• Data Management and Modeling
• Work with large climate datasets, including CMIP6, reanalysis data, and proprietary models.
• Develop and calibrate climate risk models using statistical, machine learning, or hydrological approaches.
• Utilize GIS tools for mapping and visualizing climate risks.
• Reporting and Communication
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients, translating complex data into actionable insights.
• Assist in drafting sustainability disclosures, such as TCFD or ESG reports, integrating climate risk findings.
• Collaboration and Support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sustainability, finance, and engineering departments.
• Support the development of climate adaptation and mitigation strategies for businesses and communities.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in climate risk analysis, environmental consulting, or a similar domain.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Excel).
• Experience with GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS) and climate modeling tools.
• Knowledge of climate risk frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SBTi, ESG reporting).
Desirable
• Familiarity with catastrophe modeling software (e.g., OASIS, RMS).
• Understanding of financial risk management and sustainability reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
