We are seeking a motivated Climate Resilience and Permitting Specialist to join our team in Springfield, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional looking to grow their career in environmental permitting, climate resilience, and regulatory compliance. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of wetland scientists, planners, and engineers to navigate permitting processes and support sustainable project development.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with permitting and design staff to develop and submit regulatory applications under the guidance of senior team members.
Write clear and compelling project narratives that describe environmental impacts, mitigation strategies, and regulatory compliance.
Communicate with regulatory agencies to guide projects through permitting pathways efficiently.
Attend pre-application meetings, site visits, and public hearings to present project information to regulators and stakeholders.
Conduct field delineations of wetland resource areas, wetland function assessments, and other fieldwork to support environmental permitting.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Bachelor's degree in environmental science/policy, Water Resources, Wetlands, Natural Resources, or a related field.
0 to 3 years of experience in environmental permitting, with familiarity in:

o Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act
o Clean Water Act (Section 401/404)

Environmental impact assessments (NEPA, MEPA, CEPA)
Comfortable engaging with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
Basic GIS proficiency
Familiarity with climate adaptation strategies (e.g., green infrastructure, wetland restoration, coastal resilience)
Wetland Professional in Training (WPIT) certification is a plus
