Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support with the management of the relationship lending portfolio for the Investment Bank (IB) with the primary goal of maximizing the return on equity of the loan portfolio and associated business cases.

Accountabilities

• Work in partnership with Banking and Markets to evaluate needs of our corporate clients, whilst ensuring optimal value generation for our shareholders. .
• Manage/support with managing one or more portfolios of loan exposures within designated markets/industries, including acting as gatekeeper and voting member within the firm's capital commitment process. .
• Perform primary diligence and assist in structuring/negotiating terms for new capital commitments. .
• Monitor credits on an ongoing basis and structure/approve amendments.
• Manage loan sale and CDS hedging trade recommendations. .

Join us at Barclays as a Vice President in the Climate Portfolio Management team within Sustainable Finance. In role you will be responsible for analysing traditional data used by the bank to make financial decisions through the lens of Climate sustainability. Considering regulatory, commercial and sustainability goals you will deliver and communicate clear strategic insights that can be utilized by the business on a range of deal cycles. This will include working with senior leaders across the bank to understand requirements and assess data sets from multiple sources to deliver achievable business outcomes.

To be successful as a Vice President in Climate Portfolio, you'll need:

• Technical experience using Python to analyse data
• Experience working with large data sets and data architecture
• Proven ability to understand business requirements, identify problems and deliver outcomes
• Investment Banking product knowledge and/or experience
Some other highly valued skills include:

• An understanding or clear interest in Sustainability in relation to Finance
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple stakeholders across a range of business areas
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
• Strong understanding of professional ethics and regulatory environment
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
