Job Description

MSCI is seeking a Climate Data Analyst for its Mumbai team, focusing on sourcing and managing ESG and climate data. Responsibilities include leveraging AI for data collection and analysis, improving data quality, and collaborating with stakeholders. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant experience, including skills in Python and SQL. This is an associate-level position based in Mumbai, India.
Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI Data Collection teams sources ESG and Climate raw input data disclosed in publicly available sources. On a daytoday basis the team manages data production coordinates with vendors product teams clients and corporates. The team is responsible for quality review and ensures that data collected is up to date and adheres to data collection guidance and methodology defined by MSCI. Moreover with the teams consistent drive to innovate and leverage technology the team initiates and/or collaborates with other teams on programs related to data quality and process improvements through leveraging GenAI/LLMs automation workflow streamlining projects and building data QA models.

This is an Associate level position with the Climate Data Collection team based out of Mumbai. We are seeking a detailed oriented candidate; with understanding of climate standards and regulatory frameworks and experience with AIassisted workflows

• Drive Insightful Research: Proactively source analyze and process global company disclosures leveraging generative AI to extract meaningful insights across diverse data domains and models.
• Unlock the Power of Information: Work with a vast array of data sourcesincluding annual reports company websites quantitative data feeds web crawlers and news articlesto transform unstructured information into actionable intelligence.
• Revolutionize Data Collection with AI: Design and implement AIassisted scalable models that streamline data sourcing from multiple channels ensuring comprehensive coverage of issuers.
• Automate & Scale Data Methodologies: Develop innovative automationfriendly data collection methodologies that convert unstructured data into structured insights through advanced AIdriven electronification.
• Engineer NextGen AI Models: Build and refine generative AIpowered data extraction models ensuring continuous improvement in accuracy efficiency and performance.
• Lead & Optimize AI Agents: Manage guide and enhance AI agents serving as a validation layer to improve outputs and refine AIgenerated insights through expert feedback.
• Shape the Future of Data Operations: Partner with technology and transformation teams to design optimize and engineer cuttingedge data workflows and operational processes.
• Enhance Data Quality & Efficiency: Drive automation initiatives that improve data quality diagnostics reducing manual intervention and increasing operational efficiency.
• Collaborate for Impact: Work closely with internal stakeholders and downstream teams to understand data needs define quality control frameworks and ensure seamless data delivery.
• Engage with Companies & Clients: Review and process company feedback address client queries and contribute to a transparent datadriven ecosystem that powers critical decisionmaking.

• Bachelors degree in the fields of Finance/Economics or Business Management Environmental Science or Interdisciplinary Studies.
• Minimum of three 3 years experience in data collection research and data management; ESG or regulatory related experience would be an advantage
• Handsonexperience with Python SQL. Ability to perform data analysis using python
• Interest and drive for adoption of Generative AI/LLMs into production workflow to improve timeliness and quality of data. Experience of using GenAI tools for research and data analysis purposes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Experience working on a global team in an international company is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people in different offices and time zones.
