Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Climate Change Mitigation Specialist to join our team. As a Project Coordinator, you will play a vital role in advancing local environmental solutions and addressing climate change.
About the Role
• You will serve at a nonprofit organization or public agency dedicated to preserving and protecting our environment.
• As a Project Coordinator, you will plan and lead projects that help communities mitigate and adapt to climate change.
• You will support projects such as planting and inventorying trees, designing and managing nursery gravel beds, conducting virtual and on-site solar opportunity assessments, installing energy-saving materials, and organizing sustainability projects.
Requirements
• You must be dependable and have a history of good attendance.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions is essential.
• You should be able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule depending on the agreed-upon hours commitment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication (with attachments), databases, and software use, and videoconferencing is required.
• Fluency in English for speaking, reading, and writing is necessary.
• You must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States is required.
• You must be able to successfully complete a background check.
Benefits
• You will receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks and additional perks as an AmeriCorps program member.
• Federal benefits include up to $7395.00 in Education Award, Federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment, and time accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
• Program-specific benefits vary based on the hours commitment per week.
