Climate Change & Energy Strategy Manager

The Climate Change & Energy Strategy Manager at ATTB will lead the development and implementation of the Council's Climate Change and Energy Strategy in Basildon, UK. Job Purpose:

Lead the development and delivery of the Council's Climate Change and Energy Strategy to support our transition to a net-zero, climate-resilient borough. You will champion sustainability, decarbonisation, and energy efficiency across council operations and within the wider community.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve the Council's net-zero carbon and climate adaptation goals.
• Oversee the planning, delivery, and monitoring of energy and sustainability projects.
• Coordinate cross-departmental working groups and engage external stakeholders, including community groups and businesses.
• Identify and secure funding opportunities for climate initiatives.
• Provide expert advice to senior leaders and elected members on climate policy and legislative requirements.
• Monitor performance against key targets and produce reports to demonstrate impact.

Person Specification:
• Proven experience in climate change, energy strategy, or environmental sustainability within a public sector or similar setting.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• In-depth knowledge of UK climate policies and legislative frameworks.
