Job Description
The South Norfolk and Broadland District Council is hiring a Climate Change Coordinator for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role involves supporting climate change initiatives, enhancing biodiversity, and reducing carbon emissions. Candidates should have a degree in Environmental Sciences or equivalent experience. We are seeking an experienced Environment Coordinator to support the delivery of our Climate Change, Environment, and Biodiversity Delivery Plans.
This key role will help to driver progress towards our goal of Net Zero by 2030 across council estates and operations and will also work closely with communities and businesses to enhance biodiversity, reduce carbon emissions, and improve local environments.
Developing, facilitating and supporting key projects and policies identified in the plan, you will promote and facilitate stakeholder engagement and community involvement in environmental policy. You will provide technical advice in a policy and strategy context, lead and coordinate on our response to plans, projects and initiatives and represent the councils on external groups. Researching, analysing, reporting and publishing of information will also be required.
With strong relationship-building and influencing skills, the successful candidate will have a degree in Environmental Sciences together with post-graduate applied experience (or other relevant discipline) or have demonstrable equivalent experience in an environment related-role. You will have previous experience of developing and delivering projects from inception, with excellent data analysis skills.
