Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Carbon Scientist to join our team at One Carbon World, a global leader in carbon accounting and measurement.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in environmental science, ecology, or forestry, and extensive experience in developing MRV protocols and implementing remote-sensing systems.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, remote opportunity that requires international travel and potential attendance at the annual United Nations Conference of Parties (CoP).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing models to simulate changes in carbon stocks over time, working with large and complex datasets, and applying mathematical equations to estimate biomass and carbon stock changes.

Responsibilities:
• Technical Expertise: Developing MRV protocols for farm/forest-based carbon measurement, implementing and analysing remote-sensing systems, and applying the IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories.
• Research Experience: Working with large and complex datasets, mathematical equations, and research experience in forestry and soil ecosystems.
• Communication: Collaborating with colleagues who are experts in their fields and contributing to the growth and development of the organisation.
