Job Description

Aurora Public Schools is seeking a Climate and Culture Coordinator for its elementary school in Aurora, CO. This full-time role involves fostering a positive school environment through collaboration with staff, students, and families, implementing conflict resolution and behavior management strategies. Candidates should have at least five years of experience with children and strong leadership skills. The position requires in-person work and offers a salary range of $90,000 to $120,000.
The Coordinator of Climate and Culture is pivotal in fostering a positive, culturally sustaining school environment. This position collaborates closely with staff, students, families, and administrators to implement effective conflict resolution, behavior management, and restorative practices. The Coordinator leads efforts in modeling and coaching school-based staff on integrating Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Restorative Practices. As a key member of the Administrative Leadership Team (ALT), this role contributes to developing student-centered behavior and accountability systems. The coordinator is primarily responsible for creating and managing the school's MTSS/PBIS/Restorative Practice programming, working directly with students, staff, and administrators to enhance the overall school climate and culture.

Minimum of five years experience working with children in a structured setting. Minimum of two years of experience in direct service with youth, teaching, or related experience. Expertise in the areas of Restorative Practices and school discipline.

Strong understanding of positive school culture and climate. Ability to analyze MTSS and Student data for disproportionality and response, academic behavior and SEL. Knowledge of school law, Aurora Public School (APS) Safe Schools Handbook, conflict management, and behavior management. This position requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people, including students, parents, teachers, school administration, business, and community partners. This position requires leadership, passion, and creativity with knowledge of de-escalation strategies, planning, organization, and facilitation skills. Understanding of the change process and adult learning. Ability to work with students with various backgrounds and abilities. Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers, basic computer software, and basic office equipment.

Principal License Strongly encouraged. Operating knowledge of the student information system required within two months after hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
